Our Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Awareness training is suitable for anybody who needs to be aware of the risks presented by hazardous substances in the workplace, giving learners an understanding of COSHH Regulations 2002 and covers safe usage of such substances, chemicals or biological agents. Exposure to harmful substances can result in severe injuries or potentially fatal diseases, so employers are legally required to meet COSHH regulations. The HSE states that employers must provide information, training and instruction for employees who work with substances hazardous to health.
Description
On completion of this online Control of Substances Hazardous to Healthy (COSHH) training course you will be aware of the COSHH regulations 2002 and European CLP regulations for compliance purposes, understand how to carry out a COSHH risk assessment, have a working knowledge of the appropriate COSHH safety procedures, be able to define hazardous substances and understand the types of these hazardous substances, understand the dangerous effects that these hazardous substances can have on health or the environment and know the different COSHH symbols.
If you manage or oversee workers who could encounter hazardous substances or if you’re required to work with any hazardous substances as part of your day-to-day job, then you need COSHH training. COSHH applies to all industries and workplaces that employ harmful substances, including catering, baking, beauty and hairdressing, cleaning, agriculture, engineering, motor vehicle repair and so on.
